LUCKY TAPES Shows off their Happiness with Latest Music Video!

To celebrate the release of their album Blend, pop rock band LUCKY TAPES released the music video for their track “Happiness” on their YouTube channel. Featuring guest vocalist Haru from the band DAILUCK, lead vocalist Kai matches with her voice perfectly in a track that is a must listen for fans. The music video shows the day in the life of the “Number one” couple and features  Ryo Miyata and Hiroi Igeta in the roles. 

As previously reported, the album will drop with twelve tracks total and will include previously released digital singles “Actor”, “Mars”, “BLUE feat. kojikoji”, and “Trouble”. It will release with two editions: a CD-only standard edition and a two CD + Photobook limited edition. The additional CD for the limited edition will include the instrumental version of the album.

LUCKY TAPES Airs Out Their Laundry with Latest Music Video!

Three-member rock band LUCKY TAPES released the music video for their track “Laundry” on their YouTube channel. Released across all digital music streaming platforms back on the 7th, this will be the latest release before their upcoming album Blend in November. Vocalist Kai Takahashi directed and edited the music video, and while his first venture doing so, Takahashi pulls it off professionally with a splash of personal flair. Taking on an autumn vibe to the video, it features an abundant amount of yellow, red, and green throughout.

LUCKY TAPES Create a Unique Blend for Upcoming Album!

Music Corner alum LUCKY TAPES announced that they will be releasing a brand new album, Blend on November 25th. This will be the latest album release done by the group since dressing back in 2018 and will be their fourth album overall. the album will drop with twelve tracks total and will include previously released digital single, “Actor”, “Mars”, “BLUE feat. kojikoji”, and “Trouble”. It will also release with two editions, a CD-only standard edition and a two CD + Photobook limited edition. The additional CD for the limited edition will include the instrumental version of the album.

“Slow & Easy” by HIRAIDAI

With the summer season ending I find myself going back to this track every so often. As miserable as this season was for me with the ongoing crisis, putting “Slow & Easy” on my rotation helped me to take things one day at the time, and that’s most important with everything going on. While his latest releases “Sayonara” and “GIRL FRIEND” have been great, it doesn’t have one two punch of emotions that is attached with Hirai’s greatest hit.

“Life” by TENDRE

This one was a fairly recent addition as while it was originally dropped digitally back in April, and was featured on his latest mini-album Life Less Lonely. While not giving it any notice the first time around, having it on the latest release helped it out a whole lot more. This song featured a lot of what I just love about TENDRE, with his amazing vocals and outer-worldly composition. The hint of sax throughout its melody brings that added zest that had missed from other tracks from the mini-album which brought my love for it even more.

“I’ll Go To The Moon” by Naz

Naz is an artist that I’ve kept my eye on for the longest time after her debut single, “Fare” last year, and she is an artist that changes her style with every release. Hitting a more grunge style with a splash of modern R&B might sound like a peanut butter and pickle situation in regard to compositions. This unusual blend ends up becoming a fresh of breath air with Naz’s luxurious vocal range.

“Romance no Kamisama” by Kohmi Hirose

Occasionally I get a retro itch for songs that I heard when I was a kid or from an artist that I knew previously and “Romance no Kamisama” has filled that niche very nicely. It balances all that 90’s J-pop goodness with its high energy and simplistic composition that I can’t help but move to the beat. While I did drop it halfway through the month to prioritize other artists that I had found, I had enjoyed going through my nostalgic trip with it.

“Trouble” by LUCKY TAPES

After doing the Music Corner Round Up Episode a couple of weeks back, I’ve been on a huge LUCKY TAPES kick. Their latest track brings up a part of the band that I had loved when when I first had discovered them. The song brings up a relaxed and jam feel that guitarist Kensuke Takahashi just shreds on, with an amazing melody that listeners can’t help but get lost in.

“Blue” by LUCKY TAPES

This is such a great and wonderful song. The vocals of Kojikoji are done really well in this number and the lead vocalist Kai has a pretty solid rap game. He rarely breaks out and you get to hear it here in this track. It also has this nice laid back feel to it. My only gripe is that I wish it was longer as I feel like it ends too soon but the artist is in a good place when the biggest problem with their song is it is too short.

“I Believe…” by Hiragana Kamiyado

This is the last song on Hiragana Kamiyado’s freshman album HRGN. This is a slower number designed to show off the vocals of the group. The track does an excellent job giving each girl a moment to shine and the chorus has some really great harmonization. The song convinced me to check out their album and I’m was not disappointed.

“Tokyo Skip” by Koudai Yoshida

Here is a small preview for an upcoming music corner I plan on doing. This is the first track on Yoshida’s latest album, 0(Zero), that came out earlier this year. This song comes out of the gate swinging with a fun and unique sound. Yoshida has left a strong impression on me and this is just a small taste of what he has to offer.

“In The Summer” by ARASHI

There is something about this song that keeps pulling me back to it. Its got a great medium tempo flow to it with a nice hook and sticks a good blend of the western and Japanese music managing to straddle the line between both. This is a fantastic addition to their discography and I encourage everyone to check out.

“Ayumi” by Yu-Ta from IVVY

From the moment the listener hears the opening piano keystrokes they know they are going to be in for one hell of a song. The vocal performance by YU-TA complements the melody very well. I didn’t know it was YU-TA himself who actually also did the piano work on this song and he is very talented. The music video that recently dropped shows off his skills and gave me a newfound respect for his vocal talent. Kento.i was my favorite member until I heard “Ayumi” and now YU-TA is easily my new favorite.
